Rods are up
before you are.
Striped bass on the Hudson through the spring and fall, and deep sea trips out of Hyannis when the tuna show up. One captain, two fisheries, and a boat that leaves on time.
Pick your water.
They are different trips. The Hudson is a tidal river an hour from the city, fished for striped bass. Hyannis is open Atlantic, fished for whatever is offshore that month. Most people book one and come back for the other.

Stripers, on the tide.
The Hudson holds striped bass from the spring run right through to the end of November. We fish the tide rather than the clock, so start times move through the season and the early boat is usually the good one.
When the tuna show up, we go.
The Cape season runs from late April into December, and what you are fishing for changes month to month. Bluefin open on June 1. Sea bass come on over structure through June. Fluke are around from late June into September, and stripers hold from June to November.
It is a longer day and a longer run than the Hudson. Worth it when the offshore bite is on.
Set up for fishing, not for show.
Everything on board is rigged for the water it fishes. Rods, reels, terminal tackle and bait are included on every trip, so you can turn up with a jacket and a licence you do not need.
Anthony Vitro.
Come spend the day on the water with Captain Anthony Vitro.
His own words, from the Facebook page
Bent Rod runs out of Middletown, New York. Two fisheries, one boat and one captain, which means the person who takes your booking is the person on the wheel when you get there.
The Hudson is home water. Hyannis is the summer run, when the offshore fishing on the Cape is worth the drive.
Boat days, not brochure shots.
Every picture on this page came off Anthony’s own camera roll. Stripers, fluke, sea bass and bluefin, on both waters.
